Stepping into the 20th Century, what hasn't changed is the way people express their affection towards someone they love. It can be a candlelight dinner with a clear sky, or it can be just a coffee for two. If we think back in time, being in a relationship was a gamble and it hardly made sense for the two families to move beyond that. But now things have changed to a great extent in today’s time being a mature adult you are free to make your own decisions.
The question is, "Really? Are we free to make our own decisions?"
The answer -“Hope you will find it out by the end of this blog.."
What are the ages 18 and 21 so highlighted for? Let's think on this first. Is it for being an Adult or is it for specifying that now we are and can act as a Mature Adult.?
Basically, these ages describe: Now something has unlocked for us to do in our life. But what is it? Oh! I get it. This is a mark just to make sure that now, we can do things which we were actually doing since we were like 15!
Wao..!! That's great!
What's more?
Oh yes, we can visit adult sites now. And?..... That's it, What's more?
For people living in different parts of the world, these age barriers basically mean you are now able to move away from the secure world provided by one's family and start your own individual and independent life.
You can now get married to a person with whom you are in love and together you can build your world in your own terms. But what about the people living in India.? In India it is more about Respecting your elders, being secure when you are with your family even though you are independent enough to handle situations yourself.
The point here is, being independent also does not give you “the right" for making and taking your own decisions.
Well, CONGRATULATIONS.. you have just entered a situation where everything that's going to happen will make no sense!
The word "generation" means "all the people in a group or a country who belong to a similar age group and have a similar attitude to solve or come out through different experiences in life.
Why am I talking about generation right now..?
Well, let me explain.
Think as if you are with a friend and he is saying that doing a particular thing is not good and just because he is your friend, you listen to him and do not complete the task. When you ask him, "why this is not good?" He simply replies “Someone told me, and I'm telling you.”
This little thing becomes a chain reaction and continues to reach out people till it becomes "THE ABSOLUTE LAW" and is blindly followed by everyone without knowing the reason or cause behind it as to Why it is not supposed to be done.
The philosophy of blindly following what the other person has said or is saying continues from the older times. Indians being highly educated do not pay attention and do not ask “Why” for following or not following a particular trend. Being a follower and not a leader needs to change.
What needs to change is the mentality of people. You have hardly met anyone and you even don't know the person. Soon you are married and the next night you find yourself with a stranger in bed.
Wow! how great and unbelievable is that..!!!
A great round of applause for losing your seal to someone you barely know and that's the way it is supposed to happen your family says..!
#WTF! and then you cannot reverse what has been done.
At this time, Various thoughts might be running like, What if we meet the person and fall in love and willing to share our lives? Well, all these things are up to you. I have just made a common general comment here about the worst situation anyone can be in.
So now, the next thing is, "How will this follower behaviour change?"
Well, it will change when we decide to move ahead by using our own mind and brain rather than following others blindly. Be rebellious, be stubborn, be you and be free.
The upcoming generations will be much smarter and aware because we will be asking a lot more Why’s and teach them as well to ask questions and find answers to various questions themselves.
Let we be the change for a better world to live in.
